To be honest, the site takes a lot longer to load. IMHO, the other design was better due to its loading speed.

Hmm... It does look better but it takes a considerably large amount of time to load for me  .
At least this isn't that FUGLY XP look.

Perhaps the new setup is better. I don't know, but I do know it will take some time to find out.

so much whining going on. If you dont' like it, don't visit the site anymore. It looks nice, its functional, and it is better than the default VB stupid look.
the forum is going to be fairly slow regardless, it is VB we're talking about, and a lot of users. I don't like the software or the general "feel" of it, but it isn't my site. If I were paying to use this, then yes I would be entitled to my opinion on what the site should look like. But instead I'm rather thankful for what we have for FREE and I don't bitch about it. I think it looks great, and who cares if it takes 0.0034235 more seconds to load, it just means maybe all the padders trying to boost their post count will slow down some.

But as a fellow message board admin, I get this all the time. Update the software, make a color scheme change, add this, remove that, its nothing but bitching and moaning. If every member paid money to use the site, then yeah, as a "shareholder" I would take things into serious consideration.
But being this is a free service that has essentially been one of the reasons some of us even own hosting businesses, I don't think it is right to so quickly criticize the efforts that have been made to make it a better place. You can never expect a huge upgrade in software and a change in templates to go real smooth, or to have some downtime, or some slow periods...
So when people within minutes of seeing the new look they go wahhhh... I don't like it, change it or I'm going to cry it makes no sense, because if they were a newbie coming to the site for the first time you know darn well they wouldn't say a word and just think "hey this site is cool". I commend the guys at WHT for trying to take the static and boring standard vbulletin look and making it something more interesting, integrating the banners into the site, and generally making it a more pleasing place for everyone.
