Alternative to 100TB & SingleHop?
Hi there,
I am looking for a decent server with ALOT of bandwidth.
Around 80% of our bandwidth is IN.
We made a post on here a week or so ago and we got responses from 100TB & SingleHop, I then proceeded to contact them for quotes but neither replied to me.
What other alternatives are there?

Inbound bandwidth? Should be very easy to find
Most any provider will be able to get you Unmetered Inbound on a gigabit port for not much of a premium or any.

We are also looking for a powerful server with load balancing, seperate mysql & apache server. Must be Linux CentOS..
I'm not very good with hardware, I just pay the bills..
We are getting a lot of traffic and growing at a rapid rate, we run a file downloading website (legal) and most of our traffic is inbound (the files being downloaded to our server for conversion before being distributed to the end user).
TLDR:
Growing quick, need a big fast server, cluster type of thing, with atleast 1gbps port and a lot of bandwidth, location USA.

Have a check at the offers section and email providers there. That will be your best bet.

I can read and read offers all day, I'd rather be pointed in the right direction to a company that has a good reputation and trust.
The offers section is polluted with companies I wouldn't even buy shared hosting with.

You will be doing your own management? Then there isn't much more to it then picking a company that uses quality hardware, has a good infrastructure that is geared towards giving you the most control, and has a reliable network and datacenter.
You don't really need to involve the host much in your situation other than perhaps getting yourself that unmetered or high transfer inbound on your account.

If you're growing that rapidly, why not just go colocation? Get a 1/4 rack somewhere and a pair of servers. Getting a gigabit line through HE or Cogent wouldn't be much more expensive than going with a dedicated box but would allow you to add servers as you wanted to.
Best yet, if your servers require that bandwidth for server->server traffic, you can add a second switch and do private network traffic to save money on bandwidth costs.

Check out the offers section. I just saw NetDepot offering quite a tasty deal!

That's probably too complicated for the layman.

Well, why use some external BW when the provider likely has a good mix and a much higher Out than In ratio anyway - Getting a FD Gbit from Cogent/HE is usualy much more expensive than getting a Gbit Inbound from the ISP directly with some Mbit outbound.

I suggested it because they said that they were growing at a rapid rate. They're also running a file sharing service. It would likely be more cost effective as they grow to just do colo in the end if they continue to grow at a quick pace. Why move to one platform now, only to move to another later? My suggestion was just to help promote future growth. Colo is definitely more economical in the long run provided their service grows large enough to justify it.
It was merely something to look into and most definitely not the only option out there

How much bandwidth do you need exactly? 100TB specializes in giving in just what their names says. SH provides bandwidth pretty much like anyone else. So do you need 100TB or 20TB or 100Mbps unmetered or other? Not as many companies offering like 100TB but plenty that are like SH.
