Lots of downtime with Hawkhost
Pingdom is set to monitor my shared web hosting account with Hawkhost per minute. It already has 90 downtimes and counting. See attached screenshot for today.

Have you contacted their support to bring this issue to their attention?

I would suggest contacting your host first.

Highly doubt there so many downtime, its look more to me that one pingdom servers is banned on hawkhost firewall causing those fake "outage" you should contact them about it.

I would also check your DNS to see if it has any errors at intodns.com.
That can also show up as "downtime".

I'm with HawkHost....on Saturn server in Dallas....and I haven't had one second of downtime.
Have you brought these concerns of yours to the attention of Support?

External ping services are not always reliable.
Beyond that, I've never been a fan of Pingdom. I prefer Siteuptime.

I would be surprised if this was real. HawkHost seems like a great company. Though I have yet to try them out...

Contact the host before making assumptions, no doubt that "downtime" is just csf/lfd blocking pingdom probe servers. That is common unless the probe servers are explicitly white-listed for what port is being checked (presumably 80 if you're doing a http check). The 1-2min downtime every other minute is a clear indicator of this (probe servers being blocked).
The thread title should really be changed unless you've confirmed there was actually downtime.

Look at the times of the downtime. There's obviously more going on than 'downtime,' which I would agree to those above, doesn't seem like there is any.

As others mentioned, this is most probably caused by the firewall blocking Pingdom. Have you contacted Hawkhost support team yet?

Looks like its something to do with ICMP_IN_RATE or the likes...
Having external monitoring set to every minute causes more problems than its worth half the time, Try slacking back to every 5 minutes or something...
Would you enjoy someone poking you with a stick every minute?

Doesn't pingdom use a different server each interval to check?

@OP suggest you change to every five (5) minutes
We have Pingdom monitor two (2) of our web sites, on a Shared cPanel server. IMHO, there are no false alerts from Pingdom.
Also, IMHO, having Pingdom, or any monitoring service, monitor your web site, every minute, is very excessive. There are issues with Connectivity, etc., that are very intermittent, that I do not want to be receiving alerts about.
If your web site is mission critical (banking, etc.) then maybe monitoring every minute is OK, if you have a Sys Admin and Network Admin, on duty, in your own DC; but with Shared Hosting I think it is overkill.
I suggest that you: (1) Contact your web hosting provider, to be sure they are not blocking the approximately 30 IPs that Pingdom uses. and (b) That you change your Pingdom monitoring to check every 5 minutes. GL
P.S.
2 or 3 days ago, I got alerts from Pingdom. I believe I have them send me an email, if a site misses two (2) checks. I then sent an email to Support at my web hosting provider. There was, in fact, an issue on the server and they took it offline, for a short time, to do unscheduled emergency maintenance. Since then, I have not received alerts from Pingdom.
