DNS setup problems

I currently changed VPS providers, I am having difficulty with setting up DNS settings.

At my registrar (namecheap.com) I have registered a name server under:
ns1.digitaltribedesigns.com and
ns2.digitaltribedesigns.com using the 2 IP addresses allocated to me.

I then use those name servers in the DNS setup of my domains at the registrar end.
example domain is 'expertdriversclub.com'

I did the same process for my previous VPS provider, and everything worked perfectly. The name servers got registered, and using those names as DNS entries (at the registrar) for all my hosted domains worked perfectly.

With the new provider, not working so well.
At the registrar, the DNS setup does not provide a path to my VPS server.

If I do a

whois ns1.digitaltribedesigns.com

on my home linux machine, I get

Quote:
Server Name: NS1.DIGITALTRIBEDESIGNS.COM
IP Address: 173.192.202.89
Registrar: ENOM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.enom.com
Referral URL: htxtp://www.enom.com
which is correct, however if I do the same whois on my account on the VPS, I get

Quote:
No match for domain "NS1.DIGITALTRIBEDESIGNS.COM
I don't know how to further diagnose the problem and my domains are not being forwarded to the proper server.

Can you help?

If i do:

Code:
dig ns DIGITALTRIBEDESIGNS.COM
I get:

Code:
; <<>> DiG 9.7.0-P1 <<>> ns DIGITALTRIBEDESIGNS.COM
;; global options: +cmd

so looks like you need to tell register-servers.com that you want to use external dns servers and that they should not be serving dns for your zone.

Your ns1/ns2 are configured correctly to be registered nameservers and
point to your VPS at the registrar level.
You seem to miss NS (and other) records at the VPS where your 2 dedicated IPs are setup. You may try on your VPS:
dig ns DIGITALTRIBEDESIGNS.COM @0
dig ns DIGITALTRIBEDESIGNS.COM @173.192.202.89
dig ns DIGITALTRIBEDESIGNS.COM @ns1.DIGITALTRIBEDESIGNS.COM
to see if the records are available for local queries.
