have to agree tosh or ibm, as long as it isnt the cheapest tosh range as theyre not made by tosh, theyre made in the samefactory the rest of the clone rubbish is. your best off with a tecra, sat pro or a very very nice portege (used to have one and it was a dream), i currently have an ib, a21m and its great, its nearly two years old and i cant seem to break it. stick to ibm or the more expensive toshs, the satelite range arent worth the hassel.

I have had a Toshiba ... and they are good and reliable laptops. But I sold it after a month and bought my Sony PCG-GRX560 and I love it. You can't beat the 16.1" screen and I got it for a great price. I will never go back to a desktop again.

IBM notebooks are the best by far but you should wait on getting their P4's because they're having a few problems with those.

1) Buy an IBM ThinkPad T, R or A series laptop from IBM's eBay store these are sold directly from IBM and are all brand new, not refurbished.

Check out the T series which is a nice combination of lightweight portable but still packs some power, 3 models for under $1,500.

If you don't mind a desktop replacement laptop (BIG and HEAVY) then check out the A series.

2) Courtesy of XPBargains.com, Dell Small Business (you do not have to be a small business or prove that you are, trust me) has the very popular and highly rated Dell Inspiron 4150 for $1,029 with FREE SHIPPING after coupon & rebate. Your rebate check will be made payable to your companies name, so unless you have a business checking account your "business name" should be your REAL NAME do not add company or consulting just use your REAL NAME.

If I were to buy a Dell Inspiron 4150 laptop today, here's the configuration I would recommend. I decided to take advantage of the FREE RAM UPGRADE from 256MB to 512MB instead of the $100 rebate. Less hassle for me plus an extra 256MB RAM installed for you for only $100 is a good deal.

Intel Mobile Pentium®4 Processor,1.8GHz-M 14.1 XGA ATI 32MB Video

Memory: 512MB DDR,266MHz for the price of 256MB! (mail-in rebate not available)

Hard Drive: FREE UPGRADE! 40GB Ultra ATA 5400 RPM Performance Hard Drive

Floppy Drive and Additional Storage Devices: Modular Floppy Drive

Operating System: Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition

Network Adapters: Integrated Network Card

Modems: Internal 56k Modem

Modular CD/DVD Drives: 8X Max DVD-Rom

Bundled Software: Microsoft® Works Suite 2003 with Money 2003

Security Software: Dell SecurityCenter by McAfee® w/VirusScan Online,Firewall,Privacy,1Yr

Digital Music: Dell Jukebox powered by MUSICMATCH

Primary Battery: Lithium Ion Battery

Limited Warranty, Services and Support Options: 1 Year Limited Warranty plus 1 Year Mail-In Service

Internet Access Options: 6 Months AOL

$1,431 base price as configured above
-$100 coupon posted on XPBargains.com
-FREE SHIPPING ($50 savings)
==================================
$1,331

Unfortunately Dell Small Business does charge sales tax in almost all states, of course except for here in Oregon which never has sales tax

If you have any questions please post them here or PM me.

Regards,
Ross (RossMAN on DVDTalk/FW/AT/20 other Hot Deals forums/WHT)
