YardVPS is lame
had anyone here used a yardvps?
does it always that lame?
i bought a 7.9usd xen plan.and the packet loss never stop.
at first i thought it was my network problem but then i figure out when the packet loss started wherever you ping from it is timeout.
and the funny thing is that you submit a ticket say that you have pocket loss problem.their engineer will first ask for your root password then ask for the trace route result everytime they reply.after you provided those info the would let you wait a couple of days then told you they had fixed the problem.but they fix nothing, the fix problem thing is totally ********.

thanks Dave
other reviews you mean like "yardvps sucks"?lol
i know it is a low end vps and a unmanaged one,i can live with it that i must take care all the software problem, the reinstall os thing, the reboot thing or any other software thing.but unmanaged is not the excuse for the network problem and lots of ppl have the same problem as me and they never get it solved..that is what i am upset for.

What can you expect to get paying that kind of money for a VPS?
If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

There is very little issues with network problem especially when we house many different enterprise level hosting.
The packet lost your experiencing has to do with node related or VPS. Please open a ticket so our team can identify the node your on and the VPS IP.
Typical packet lost occur when someone on the node is sending outbound DDOS attack due to poor perl, php scripts that cause unwanted outbound attack. We do our best to monitor this but sometimes things like this are undetectable without ticket from our clients.Psychz Networks - Dedicated Servers, Co-location | PhotonVPS - SSD Cloud | YardVPS - Storage VPS

I just got the following results;

Packets: Sent = 50, Received = 50, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

One concern raised with ICMP echo is the possibility of Internet Service Providers (ISPs) or sites or even hosts rate limiting (including complete blocking) ICMP echo and thus giving rise to invalid packet loss measurements. Some sites simply block pings, others limit the amount of traffic that is accepted from pings, which can be especially bad for pings with large packet sizes. The net effect is that pings can get blocked so packet loss can look bad even though the network is OK.You will only find out how good a provider is when the going gets tough

You may run host-tracker next time and send the link to the provider showing the VPS is not accessible from other locations as well -- or only from your end, like a firewall temporary block.
From your post, 78% packet loss doesn't preclude TCP connection (as SSH) but lots of ICMP packets in short time may trigger firewall rules.Last edited by dotHostel; 09-04-2011 at 12:10 PM.

http://www.host-tracker.com
There is a link below the date (Permanent link to this check result) which you can send to your provider.
