Low End VPS in San Jose California???

I basically want to setup OpenVPN so don't really have any high requirements. Want to spend anywhere from $3-$10/month for a reliable yet low end vps which I will manage myself.

OpenVZ or Xen, doesn't matter, whichever is cheaper

    Any recommendations?

There are tons of VPS providers, San Jose is no problem either. Are you looking for a long or short term contract? You can also check the "VPS Hosting Offers" here on WHT, I'm sure you will find a provider that has excellent customer service with prices that are well within your budget. Good luck!

Well I don't want any yearly packages, I'll start off with a monthly package. I've looked at the offers here and on LEB but can't really find one for that location.

    Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Try the search box at the top of WHT pages and just type in "San Jose VPS"

A couple to get you started are QuickWeb (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...t=san+jose+vps scroll to the bottom) and Lightwave.net have VPSs in San Jose I think.

BuyVM, who are ready to release some new stock, are in San Jose right in your price range.

I'm already on their mailing list and I doubt I will get a chance to buy the cheap packages once they do restock because they go out fast.

    Any other recommendations guys?

These days they last about a day and a bit, but given we didn't do a sales round this week it may move a lot faster than normal

Can you give ETA on when you will be restocking?

Right now we're just waiting on some RMA's to clear and we'll be good to go.

If we don't get concrete dates back from supermicro soon we'll likely just order new parts and complain till we get a credit back

We're still aiming for next week

Alright, I'll purchase one of those when they are available.

For now I need more recommendations so I can purchase a VPS right away

I was lucky to get one low end 128M RAM plan. Till now, I am satisfied with it.

And I am thinking about to buy an upper plan early next year, and immigrate website of the company I worked for to it. It's a small site with low traffic.

2host.com is really cheap and provides 10TB of bandwidth (I've used them for side projects for about a year).
