One IP for multiple VPSs
Hello,
Is it possible to have multiple openvz vps instances running under the same public IP? Each VPS requires two ports only (ftp and ssh), and there will be no web servers running. I believe port forwarding is a possibility, considering that each server needs just 2 ports. But I'd like to learn about your experiences if you have any.█ Fraud Record - Stop Fraud Clients, Report Abusive Customers.

sure, NAT's possible
You could just assign each VM a private IP address then do NAT on the box itself to push the ports. I mean, assuming you don't need SSH to the VM's, you could even share the IP of the host node.

Host node has its own IP, and the VMs need to share a seperate but common IP. And I need ssh and ftp access to the VMs. Is that NAT you've been braggin' about a difficult thing to setup/configure?

It's just some simple IPtables rules

Should do the trick
You'll need to bind the common IP to the HN but that's easy enough

No its pretty easy and LOADS of guides are available, even on youtube, I recently set up a test node on the GNAX cloud that only came with 2 IP's so I did exactly that just set up a private range and used NAT.

Looks promising. Thanks!
Last thing, is it easy to create a script that will provision new vps instances on openvz, without a panel like solusvm?█ Fraud Record - Stop Fraud Clients, Report Abusive Customers.

You can just use vzctl to do the creation
If you setup a few sample conf files you can have it load them on creation as well.
The only 'annoying' part has always been how RAM is allocated on .18 based kernels. If you're willing to experiment, the .32 kernels have a much easier RAM allocation scheme. Granted, the .32 kernels are a bit buggy in how they schedule CPU usage but that should be fixed soon

I'd go so far as to say this is basic networking, really. Not too much different from routing external requests to a home network, which is seen as a single IP by the outside world. I've done this at home once, for testing.
It seems OpenVZ integration will allow for hosting related automations.
