Any VPS Company Like DotBlock? + About Xen

I just tried DotBlock 30 days trial and install OpenVPN. My clients really like the VPN speed. However, it seems costly to pay $35/month as I only have few subscribed clients. Do you know any provider like DotBlock (specs. is 2GB RAM, 40GB storage, 500GB BW, 100mbit full-duplex, XEN, Cloud VPS) that is much lower in price? Exclude the Cloud VPS and I only need 10GB storage.

Another question. Does amount of RAM in Xen affects connection speed of a VPS?

I just compared my VPN in DotBlock(2GB RAM,100mbit speed,350+ ping) and another in QuickWeb's Supa Xen(256MB RAM,1Gbit speed, 290+ ping). But Dotblock is much faster in IDM downloading even in peak hours than Quickweb. That's why I thought RAM plays a rule in speed? Just wanna know 'coz they say it doesn't.

It can depending on how you have your VPS node set up, It has been noted that when using pygrub templates on a 256mb VPS it can only achieve around 210 - 250 mbit while with default kernel it get go up to 800 - 950 ish mbit.

Location is obviously a factor as well so unless both servers are physically in the same DC then its probably not a fair test.

I have to wonder why you think you need 2GB ram for OpenVPN, I use it on one of our test nodes with 96 mb Ram and it has 3 people connected at any one time.

    Code:
    free -m
total used free shared buffers cached
    Mem: 96 65 30 0 8 27
    -/+ buffers/cache: 28 67
    Swap: 255 0 255

Memory CAN affect speed because the network buffers etc are automatically calculated based an system ram but the reality is you will be hard pushed to notice the difference it actually causes, it is far more likely a low level virtualisation/Xen/network/kernel driver issue, we still have a few templates floating round that have this issue and are overhauling them.

network buffers and OpenVPN encryption process in connection. I guess, it still need enough RAM to speed up that process.

2 GB of RAM at $35 is a very very good price indeed, if you want a reliable server do not go down on the price.

Yes, it's true and it's really fast. I didn't saw any provider offer like this.

    Edit:

Well, I guess I don't have any choice.
