Need a host as fast as Linode but will allow 3 IPs

I have 2 VPS's at Linode. Super fast, love them. I need to move to another provider because of Linode's single IP per VPS policy. I need a VPS with 3 IP's and don't want to run a third VPS to get it. I'd like to consolidate to a singe VPS with 3 IP's. No, I don't have technical justification, only business so they won't give it to me.

I tried ServInt (they give 4 IPs) and while I like the company, the VPS has a laggy feel to it, not slow, just not in the same class as Linode. I've worked on tuning it and it's time to find a better VPS. I won't give the tuning details as I don't want this thread to turn into a tuning discussion.

I checked and ServInt won't guarantee newer hardware if I upgrade to the next level Signature VPS. I don't want to take a chance.

So what VPS should I look at?

    I need:
    3 IP's
fast like Lindode (if you had one you know what I mean)
should I be considering only Xen virtulization?
cost does not matter within reasonable limits

Generally speaking, extra IPs are harder and harder to get these days without any justification. Do you mind elaborating on the business justification?

( XEN & KVM ) qemu in general are good for you in any case on a stable box,
    the question is your utilization.

if you are thinking of staying with Linode, and don't mind NAT.

can't you use a local network bridge inside your Linux VPS ?

you could attach 192.168.?.? to a dummy interface and bind your services on that subnet, then route the ports out to your interface.

what about IPV6? won't that do the trick? ( even if not native, u can use a fast tunnel ).

Due to the depletion of IPv4 most providers won't provide extra IP addresses without valid justification.

Do you have a preferred location?

WiredTree VPSes come with 4 IPs by default so that might work for you. However, they also come with cPanel/WHM and full management, which might not be what you're after since you are on an unmanaged host right now.

If you don't have justification, it's going to be hard to get three. What is the exact reason you need them, as that may help us give you proper justification?

Everyone thanks for the replies. I've been looking around and think I'm going to give WiredTree a try. They have the specifications that I need, as well as appear to be very well managed based on numerous posting here. I also like that they run their own data center and it appears to be top notch.

Ghan_04, I don't mind that they are fully managed. I'm fine with that. I've always colo'd my own boxes without a control panel, or used Linode primarily, but I don't mind WHM.

    Try 6sync (KVM virtualization)

    3 IPs - yes
    fast like Linode - absolutely
    cost - same as Linode

    Hi,

You may also want to try GigeNET Cloud. They will be able to get you more IPs upon request and offer a similar service to Linode.

Gigenet provides 16ips(4 usable) to any vps for an added cost. Speed & support are awesome. Give them a shot.

In their v3 portal they can do 4IPs (4 Usable) and that can be done in either location.

Gigenet would give you more IPs or look on leb for hosts who would give more ips and who have good feedback

He's not exactly looking for a low end box. I think you should try 6sync. I've never used them personally but people have good things to say about them.

They're pretty out dated. I should also update mine.

That's what i've been hearing on IRC anyways. If you want a 2nd IP you better pickup a 2nd instance
