Looking for VPS in NY
Hi all,
Since a couple of months I'm using a VPS @ thrustvps.com, which is totally OK for me, but at the moment I need a VPS in NY. Since that those are sold out at thrustvps, i am looking for another provider.
What i need:
-location NewYork
-1gb ram or more
-10gb diskspace or more
-Windows
-fast speed (both internetconnection and the VPS itself)
-price does matter (at thrustvps it costs me about 12$/month if i'm correct
You pro's probably can read between the lines that i'm not a computer expert, so that's why i'm asking advice here.
Thanks!Last edited by scorpiotech; 08-21-2011 at 05:33 AM.

I believe Turnkey Internet are in NY.....so you may want to check them out. I have no experience of them myself but I have seen them recommended here.

I guess Turnkey data center is near Albany, NY. I´m a recent customer of Turnkey Windows VPS and I´m happy with the service. Their WHT promo (VPS1 $14.25/mo 1GB RAM 2 cores 20GB HD 1TB bw @ 10Mbps out) is close what you are paying to thrustvps. I also have a Windows VPS from ResellerChoice for several months now. 100% uptime and good network -- RC uses Peer1 data center located in New York, NY. I also have a good experience with SolarVPS located in Clifton, NJ. They sell Windows VPS but there I have a Linux VPS. Finally, Washington DC area / Ashburn IMO are very appropriate locations to serve NY,NY audience and there are several providers there.

You will only find out how good a provider is when the going gets tough

Hmmmm.... can't be NJ? SolarVPS would qualify, if that's the case. EuroVPS is peered directly to NY from Amsterdam, excellent speeds there, too. HostPolar is a nice unmanaged Linux VPS provider in NY. Just to toss out names of some slight alternatives.
EDIT: Doh! OP made an update between the time I opened the thread in a tab and replied to it.|| Need a good host?

I think the cheapest windows VPS you will find in the UK will be from burst.net I am amazed you found one at all for that budget actualy would not even cover the license cost with allot of hosts.

Check the "VPS Hosting Offers " here on WHT, and also check the reviews.

Weird that noone mentioned 6sync.. They are somewhere around NY. But your budget is low.. 6sync is premium and you have to pay for that
