Exclamation Need cheap LAMP VPS with multiple domain support and free hosting panel

I need simple VPS with LAMP support and any free control panel(control panel for VPS node as well as for domains hosted) from which I can add many domains and manage them.

    Please recommend.

    Space: 10GB+
    RAM: 256MB+
    Bandwidth: 100GB+

I need budget providers (< $5 per month) with basic (or no) support.

    Thanks

    Hi

I think you will struggle to find a solution for that budget. Have you checked out the offers section ?

    Thanks

You will not struggle for that budget at all. Have you checked lowendbox?

Any preference on location, what free CP would you prefer Kloxo, ISPConfig, Webmin?

    1. Kloxo works if you run lighttp, and strip out some features.
    2. ISPConfig on 256MB? Uh ... no.
    3. Webmin isn't really a user panel. It's a GUI for server config file editing. VirtualMin is the user panel.

<$5 is tight, but BuyVM or 123Systems may have something.

Under $5 might be tight, but Hostigation has a Kloxo/LX admin OpenVZ template and you can get their 512MB plan for $6 a month. I tested one recently and it seemed fine.

I've got two BuyVM boxes that I've setup in the last two weeks and am pretty pleased with them. You will need to install/configure your admin panel yourself, but that's pretty painless.

Just visit http://www.lowendbox.com/ for VPSs below 7$. Has a lot of crap, but you can find great offers
How can you factor in VAT when comparing since you are subject to VAT on everything? Obviously purchases made outside the EU are not going to be collected with VAT, but are you not still responsible to pay it on your own? - Tim Flavin from "Hostigation.com"

You must not have looked very hard, but meh, look at http://lowendbox.com as everything is under $7 and run Kloxo, but not apache in 256mb, Kloxo will 1 button switch between that and lighttpd

For $6 a month you can get a 512MB VPS at Burst.net. Kloxo is the easiest of the free control panels for someone who is used to cPanel IMHO.

These are all unmanaged, use-at-your-own-risk, raw OS-only VPS that you have to add a webserver, MySQL and PHP to (although installing Kloxo does that for you). Just so you know.

I agree Kloxo will be your best bet.
There are others but Kloxo has been optimized for "Lightness".

I use Kloxo, and I run Apache, BIND, and strip out nothing. Just configure MySQL to use less memory. Alternatively, get a 512 mb VPS. They are still available for around $5.

To the OP, here is a setup guide to do exactly what you want.

Just to let everyone know, I ended up buying VPS from buffalovps.
512 MB RAM and 20 GB.
I must admit cpanel has spoiled me, but I am now comfortable with kloxo after figuring out some configuration issues.
I think unmanaged VPS are a good deal anytime if you get a good uptime.
I would need cpanel only if I have to offer it to my customers.
Otherwise stripped VPS is the best. Fast and simple.

Thanks, it is a nice and complete guide for getting started.
Unfortunately I saw it here only after fixing all issues.

You could also take a look at yourwebhoster.eu. I've been with them, back then they had some network issues but after they moved into another DC those issues were solved. They have images with ISPCfx pre-configured.

Any specific suggestions on what "less memory" would be?

Sure. Edit your /etc/my.cnf and after [mysqld] add the following command.

    skip-innodb

Then restart mysqld. That will disable the InnoDB storage engine, saving you 200 mb of memory. The only ill effect you should see is not being able to run roundcube, which doesn't run worth a crap anyway (use atmail open source instead).

You might want to check if you have any other scripts using innodb databases first.

Okay, sure. That's a valid point. I suppose if your customers start complaining that they can't run certain applications you have an issue. But when you're trying to save memory and half of your memory is being consumed by innodb, it's the obvious place to consider.

The question here was how to run with under 256 mb of memory. The fact is that there's no way to run under 256 mb when innodb alone is consuming 200 mb.

It's easy enough to check. First, do this from shell:
    Code:
    wget mysqltuner.pl
    chmod 755 mysqltuner.pl
    ./mysqltuner.pl
Then look in the first section to see if any of your customer's databases are using innodb.
