I need a dedicated server, it has to be in the UK or USA. The dedicated server must have the minimum specs:

4GB DDR3 RAM
Quad Core 2.3Ghz
2 x 500GB Hard Drive
100mb Dedicated Port
cPanel/WHM

Please can you let me know the best provider to go to?

There are many solid hosting providers that can help you with your request. It would also help if you listed your bandwidth requirements and if you are seeking a fully managed solution or not.

USA wise, I'd go with GigeNET or Ubiquity. I've had really positive experiences with servers of a similar spec to your request from both in the past; you can't fault their support or networks. Mike (Ubiquity Servers) and Peter (GigeNET) are both excellent guys from their sales teams and I'm sure if you have a word with them, they'll be able to get you a deal like that.

Aside from the server specs, what are the top two or three most important things you're looking for in a provider? There are a number of criteria you could use to help you find a company thats best suited to match your needs.

-support requirements
-hardware quality
-network requirements
-service level agreements
-location (US/UK)
-price

OP, your specs are simple to tell you the truth. Almost any or every provider will be able to get you what you need. The only thing is how much are you willing to pay? What kind of service are you looking at?

Latest Quad Core would be Xeon E3-12XX. It could take up to 16GB with decent pricing but after that, you'll see a price spike which you will not imagine.

It's always nice to see someone here who knows exactly what specs they want!

IMHO, you should be able to get all of that for sub $175 in the USA with a good provider. If you needed management (it sounds like you do), you might be just a touch about $200.
