Hello, I just started up a website, gamevidshq.com, and it is slow in getting traffic.

Can someone review my website and see if they can't help me increase traffic, etc.? Thanks.

A couple of things. I'm a bit confused as to why you have two search bars. Also for a video site, I don't think I would have a "top 10 users." section. I actually think you could make the logo a little bit bigger, but align it to the far left side. Same as the upload and login buttons at the top, you could move those to the far right side.

Overall I think your site is actually pretty cool and seems to work well.

If you would like to increase you traffic I can give you some basic hints about SEO. It can slightly improve your traffic. Add alt descriptions to your images, some of them lack if it. Try to use more h1 and strong tags, search engine pays attention for these. Don't use font style, it is deprecated. Change to CSS instead.

To further increase your traffic try advertising at forums, blogs, social networks, directories and site reviews, all for free.

PPC comapny might help you, as long as you know what keywords and budget would be the most effective. However don't spend too much money for it at the begining.

I would leave site design without changes. For this kind of site design is suitable.

What exactly will the alt tags for the images do to increase traffic?

Images alt tags are descriptions for seach engines about your images. Search engines don't 'see' most of images therefore alt tag describes about what specific image is, so search engine can recognize it. Which helps to increase value of website context and broadcasting.
When search engines 'notice' that there are 10 interesting alt tags related with current page content, they will put more value on that particular website as that page can probably be more interesting for users. Alt tags should be short and precise, for example: 'young lemon tree'.
