Help me choose dedicated for my school project :D

Hi guys,

I would like to purchase 1 or maybe 3 dedicated servers for my school project, it will using for store private files and sync between servers.

My requirement is:
- CPU speed and RAM are not important but It must have enough power run Windows 2008 R2 Standard.
- HDD is from 1TB, and maximum 2TB (not including the OS)
- I will provide my Windows License.
- 1 IPv4 address is ok
- Location is not important.

The important thing is it must be cheap, as cheap as possible and I will pay quarterly.

I found kimsufi.co.uk but more would be better. Thank you for reading my thread

Well I guess .. you really need to evaluate the requirements .. as its quite possible that either a VPS may be able to complete your requirements and you might be paying more than what you require for a dedicated server

1 or 3... what about 2?

Do you have a budget since it is a school project?

kimsufi.co.uk offers something like my requirement at £13.99/month, if there is any VPS cheaper than that price, I will consider it

If the price is cheap, I will buy 3, but if it's expensive, I will buy 1
Budget is around £13.99/month per 1

What could one possibly learn from 3 dedicated servers with 2TB storage? How to setup a dodgy seedbox company perhaps?

Are you over 18 as many providers will require it if you are entering into a service contract.

The best thing to do is to look over at the dedicated server offers here on WHT as hosts are not allowed to reply to you here with their custom offers.

I also noticed that you mentioned you wanted 1-3 dedicated servers with a budget of £13.99/month?? Is that an error? If not, then you are looking for a VPS not a dedicated server.

I have yet to find the first host who's offering a VPS with 1TB storage for said price.

Sorry to burst your bubble on Kimsufi, but I don't think you'll be able to order one from Vietnam

I ordered my very first server when I was 16. :/

-----

Is your Windows OS License genuine? or is it from MSDN or dreamspark? Most providers won't allow you to use your own license for windows in my experience. the only provider that allowed me to use my dreamspark license was Ubiquityservers. But yeah you could rent out a Web edition license for just $10 to $15.

As for your requirement, with that low budget, I suggest you use a vps. but again, no one will give you a dedicated 1TB HD with that budget.

you must have at least $50-99 to get a pretty decent server. I suggest you check out the dedicated servers thread here on WHT or go here, http://www.ubiquityservers.com/overstock-deals or take a look a hetzner.

Btw, what will be the reason for you to use such high hd requirement? (3x2tb=6tb)
