Just wish to find out which is the best Web hosting billing software. I have tried a lot of them and am currently not happy with any.

Can anybody suggest one and the reasons why.

Seems you're using WHMCS? What don't you like about it?

    WHMCS gets my vote anyway.

WHMCS is out of the question. Clientexec and hostbill more or less for beginners. Need something more professional.

    Wrong section!

However, if you are not satisfied with "WHMCS", you could consider Ubersmith as already suggested, "Modernbill" perhaps?

I hear cpanel is coming out with a new billing software, I guess they are trying to cut WHMCS out of their market?

What are you looking for in a billing software? I've never really liked either of them either, but then again we have our own internal database that manages our customer data. Using that in collaboration with 2checkout has worked great for us over the past 5 or so years.

Must admit 2Checkout is excellent in collaboration use

Been using for 3 years now and never really had any issues, % cuts on payments and fees are a little higher but what can you expect I suppose?

Thats true, 10.5% + .45 per transaction is very steep (even though you eventually get 5% back). But I've always looked at it as we are paying them to not only process our payments, manage recurring billing, but to also do most of the fraud screening for us (which is why we started using them in the first place). Before that we were doing all of the fraud screening ourselves and it was a nightmare.

Since we started using 2checkout we have gotten zero charge-backs because of fraud (knocked on wood). So in that sense, they do a great job and well worth the extra 2-3% per transaction that you would pay with other gateways.

    1. Why is WHMCS out of the question just out of my own curiosity?
    2. As advised above, UberSmith is more "professional" although I don't like the customer side, it feels clunky but it does get the job done.

If WHMCS, being already the more user-friendly and robust billing system, and still not meeting your requirements. Perhaps, you can consider custom developing a billing system that would meet your requirements the best.

That's funny, because I thought HostBill was pretty much on par with WHMCS in terms of features. The guys at HostBill have a very fast development cycle, I'm sure if you put in a feature request that makes sense they would add it.

(I personally like WHMCS but strongly believe HostBill will be their biggest threat in a few years.)

Once they can no longer compete on features, I should think the "price war" will start.

With that being said, I would like to see the Live Chat module appear as standard within WHMCS, Instead of making you pony up cash for modules and addons they should start to implement them as standard within WHMCS.

Maybe its something they plan to do in the future who knows, We'll have to wait and see, Untill then WHMCS rocks!

I don't understand why WHMCS doesn't upgrade some of its software and scripts for forecasting revenues and do more projections. I feel they'd be able to have a huge sell on that side if only they had some finance folks in the company.

I've been using whmcs, I enjoy its easy to navigate settings and features, and it offers a great wiki for any questions you could have.

I built some reports for WHMCS that do forecasting and such, it was a lot of complicated MySQL but it gets the job done without having to manually do it
