Looking for a dedi in europe
Hi,
I'm looking for a dedi in Europe. My budget is quite small 160€ tops.
I've searched quite a few providers already and haven't found any that beats OVH. Here's what I'm looking at right now:
"EG 2011 BestOF"
Intel Xeon i7 W3520
24Gb DDR3
2x2Tb SATA
1Gbps (with 20Tb traffic)
The only thing against them is that they don't accept Paypal and have a big setup fee.

There is no "Intel Xeon i7". There is "Intel iCore 7". The machine you want is to powerful and the traffic is to much to be priced at €160. Anyone who sells such machine at that price is heavily underbidding the market and I doubt that it could guarantee the quality of the service.

It's not a request. Those are the specs over at OVH for 136€/month.
What I'm looking for is something to beat that if there is such a thing ...
OVH is a known provider so I'm not doubting the quality of their service. I think it's a great price.

Just wanted to know what else I could get for my money that's all. 
At least my experience with OVH has been great so far.

If the OVH experience satisfied you and the price is good for you, then you should go forward and order the server from them. Any other supplier will have different procedures and these might not please you.
Its not just hardware and network what a provider supplies to you, its the complete experience.

Yes I do understand that their support probably isn't the best.
But as far as prices go they seems to leave the competition way behind ...

A whole lot of people could do their prices if they got clients that were OK with waiting many days for a support reply and used desktop hardware..

with 250 i think it is possible.

I also have to say that the 160 EUR budget is pretty low for your demands. And if no one can beat it, just go with OVHs offer.
But don't expect too much from it

If you are happy with OVH, then stick with them.
Prices will always depend on business plan, infrastructure, etc...
You get what you are paying...

My only demand for now is 1Gbps connection everything else is a plus. I don't mind a machine with lower specs if it has a good 1Gbps connection.
