Most of the banks have one, the city offices WILL have one.

if you are a bank customer and small branch it may be free, if not expect to pay $10-20, city offices will also be a fee between 5 and 20 normally.

Fedex stores also often offer notary, usually for around $2 to $3 per notary seal.

Same goes for UPS stores, wife had some legal papers notarized there. The FedEx/Kinkos was another mile up the road; so it's nice to know we have one down the street.

Good to know! Do you know what their fee was?

I generally find UPS stores to be more expensive than Fedex stores for non-mailing services, so I'm curious. (That said, perhaps that is Texas-specific!)

You would be correct, I think it was around $5-6 bucks. But we don't do notary stuff on a regular basis, so I did not really care at the time.

When I did my bank stuff at Frost for AH, they do that for free; which was nice.

I'm actually surprised to hear that there's a fee. I've never paid a fee. Banks and drug stores are usually good places to find a notary.

There should be a fee at most places unless it is given as a courtesy, as they have to keep a bond for safety with the state govt and that is not free for them (unless paid by work that needs it often like city/bank does)
