    How is verification done?

I wanted to post reviews of one of my shared hosting accounts and VPS accounts, can someone please guide me to details on how I would go about verifying that I actually have accounts with these hosts?

    Thanks!

Once you start a new thread in the appropriate, click on the "Report" button on the top right corner of your opening post to provide the moderating team with the domain and/or IP that you host with the provider that you are reviewing.

I believe you report your own review post with the "REPORT" button in the top right, and include the domain name that is hosted there. The moderators can handle the rest.

Ok, and how do they confirm the rest? I'm just curious. How can they tell that the domain/ip belongs to me and is with that specific host?

And if I do not have the site with the specific host, I can not be verified any more right?

A simple WHOIS search will reveal lots of information, not to mention some secret checking tools by WHT mods which cannot be revealed in the forum to prevent foul play.

If you do not have any domains being hosted with a hosting provider, how do you know how good their hosting services is?

So the verification process is secret? I would like to know how they achieve the verification, what exactly they look for after i submit a domain. What prevents someone else for example submitting a review using a domain that does not belong to them but is with the host? Is this covered?

I think they will contact you for some question/proof after report the thread.
Anyway, just post the review from what you experience with the provider. No damage and No harm or maybe after your provider saw the thread, they will give you extra stuff for your host :p

It's not a secret per-se, but at the same time, we're not going to give away the goods we use to do verifications, as it will simply give folks a better way to get around some of our systems.

When you create a review on a service, simply click on the Report button on your thread and submit the domain name you have hosted with the host in question. If we need more information than that, you can bet we'll be in contact.
