have setup paypal..
but nowadays there are many restrictions being imposed om the paypal india users and hence the clients cant pay using debit card via paypal.
Also tried the CCAvenue but I was looking for something new...
Just curious, why PayPal has many restrictions to India users? Are there many frauds from India ? or any other issues?
As I can recall, PayPal also restricted our country (Indonesia) about 10 years ago (can't remember the exact years) - it's due to many credit cards frauds from Indonesian users/IP address. But now it's no longer blocked/restricted by PayPal
About the payment gateway (to accept ATM/Debit Cards locally). Have you checked with your local banks? probably they're offering such online payment services?
If I recall correctly it was to comply with new regulations from the central bank.
No new regulations, those regulations were for ages, paypal was flouting them and got caught. They are still not complying with the rules in entirety.

RBI has asked them to comply with the rules and Paypal found a workaround.
RBI does not say you can't transact higher than USD 500 in one transaction, RBI does not say you have to withdraw within 7 days, RBI does not say you can not pay from your funds deposited in some foreign location (in this case paypal).
