    problem email with sent to gmail


    will time i sent any email of horde or roundcube to gmail, back one email with this message :
    User and password not set, continuing without authentication.
    <[email protected]> failed after I sent the message.
    Remote host said: 550-5.7.1 [] The IP you're using to send mail is not authorized to
    550-5.7.1 send email directly to our servers. Please use the SMTP relay at your

    This is your ISP issue.

    Make sure the Ip has stuff like rdns , domainkeys etc setup....

    The answer to your question is right there in the reply that Gmail is sending you:

    Essentially, your email is coming from "", but the IP address of the SMTP server you're using to send mail is not the IP address of "", and so Gmail doesn't like it.

    It is done this way to prevent people from exploiting open relays, where someone could use someone else's SMTP server to send spam without having to authenticate with the SMTP in any way.
