    Redirecting in VirtualMin

    I have a dedicated server running Virtualmin.
    I am trying to to have resolve to my forum, which
    (Technically speaking, I am making the forum the main site).

    The only way I know is using 301 on .htaccess, but if anybody has a better way of doing this I'd appreciate it very much.

    You can do this with a meta redirect for example

    HTML Code:
    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=NEW PAGE URL" />
    Replace NEW PAGE URL with the URL of the page you want to end up on

    Though i guess there is gonna be somone posting to tell you this isnt the correct place

    I personally prefer to do a PHP redirect using the Header Location:

       header( 'Location:' ) ;

    Here's the 301 redirection via PHP

    Header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" );
    Header( "Location:" );

    Redirect 301 in .htaccess is the right and best way and will not degrade your search engine rankings
