Looking for a VPS, $15/mo max

    Hello

I'm looking for a VPS as godaddy's webhosting is not enough reliable for me anymore.

    I want to spend $15/mo/max.

Until now, I found this http://wooservers.com/virtual-privat...ux-vps-europe/ (Europe VPS #2) and this http://alienvps.com/vps-hosting/ (UFO 3). They have good ram and cpu.

Do you know these providers ? Are they reliable ? Do you know others ?

Thanks by advance and please excuse my bad english

    Hi,

i must say opinion varies when comes to which are reliable and which are not. Reviews in lowendbox dot com will really give you the insights of the providers there features. Communities there are very active and specific to VPS hosting only. you might wanna surf around there.

Thanks for the reply, you're right.

I found some bad reviews here on WHT but it's globally good on LEB.

Dont be discourage by the bad reviews. No providers can make all customers happy. If you are daring enough, split your budget by buying two vps from two different providers and you judge them yourself. You never know you found a new provider that is equally competent and committed in serving you =)

Surf around LEB and take your time. With your budget i am sure you are able to find two providers there for your try out.

Everywhere but not France. If the location has a good peering to Europe, that would be perfect.

One little question guys: I want to run a FluxBB forum which uses ~2mo for each page, with 100 users max at the same time. How many ram do I need ?

    @cripperz: I'll take a look

As far as I understand those bad reviews about AlienVPS were from when the company was under different management so they may not be valid today. Have a look at BuyVM.net as well - they are certainly within your price range and have been great for me

So an EU location would suit you best. And i think 512MB ram would be enough for just apache/php/mysql and your forums.

@cedricd: wao, the plans are really nice! $13/month for 1gb ram and 4 cores that's really cool. I'll try to find some reviews for this company.

@uksceservers: I think too, but US hosts are usually more attractive, and I was looking for 1gb ram at least, but if 512mb is enough, that's good.

Ok ukscservers. It seems intovps is good; their prices are decent ($10/mo for the cheapest) and located in NL, Leaseweb. Maybe a good choice?

wjunction is similar to WHT, but WHT is more active

Finally, I'll have to choose between:

BuyVM (if I can get one )
    IntoVPS
    AlienVPS
    WooServers
    DirectSpace

I'll let you know what I'll choose, thanks again for the advices.

15 per year is hard but 15 per month? you can pretty much get the best budget VPS providers at that price.

What about control panel? or you don't need one, cPanel alone can cost you $15/month, you mentioned Godaddy means you're currently using a control panel to manage your website(s), too many people just buy a VPS without knowing that the control panel that comes with a VPS is only for rebooting, viewing statics etc.., be aware of that.

Good luck. I've used the first 3 on your list and have nothing but good things to say about them.

Don't worry, for an other website I'm using a VPS with Kloxo installed and everything's ok
