Updating DNS To Point Domain's Website & Emails To External Server
I have a client's website that I've moved to a shared hosting server in a different network/datacentre. I now need to update their DNS entries to point their subdomains/website/emails etc to the new server. However, I would like to avoid having to ask the client to update their DNS servers under the domain name.
What I've done is to change the IP for all the DNS entries under the "Edit DNS Zone" in the WHM to the external server's IP.
I've also set the localhost to the new IP and set the MX to "Remote Mail Exchanger".
Would appreciate any advice on whether I need to do anything else or if I have missed any steps.
