Looking for dedicated hosts, ddos security. How is OVH?

Im currently on a 100mbit line with my current dedicated host and am looking for something more secure, because of recent heavy ddos attacks taking my gaming servers offline for quite a long time.

    Im looking into https://www.ovh.ie/products/mg_ssd.xml

    Couple questions about this:
    1. More bandwith = more secure from ddos attacks?... right?
    2. They advertise 10gbps... is this 10gbps to internet? Erm i guess i mean, will people (theoretically be able to) download from me at 10gbps lol?
    3. Any reviews you can give me regarding OVH and especially regarding their 10gbps lines?
    4. Any other hosts you can recommend who are very secure regarding ddos attacks?

More bandwidth does not technically mean more secure, just means you may be able to withstand more of an attack. With 10GBps, I can see it being a shared line. It doesn't matter how much bandwidth though, you need to find a host who does server hardening, has software/hardware firewalls to prevent the attacks. Hope i helped.

OVH recently limited the incoming UDP connections to 20Mbit per IP.
    See http://travaux.ovh.net/?do=details&id=5443
Not sure if that'd help with the kind of ddos you're getting.

Other than that, OVH does not provide any kind of ddos protection services.

So they may not be a great choice for you.

Bandwidth has nothing to do with protection from DDoS.

My data center provide DDoS protection, they monitor my all servers and If they detect DDoS attack then immediately they take a action and also I try to prevent DDoS from my side..

You can avoid DDoS by using good firewall and monitoring your server.

How is singlehop with ddos security?

  9. Do you have a specific location you're looking for? You initially were looking at OVH, but then ask for recommendations on Singlehop, obviously a quite a bit of a geographic jump when you're talking about game servers!

You set a budget of $500, is that per server, or for a DDoS solution? DDoS solutions are inherently expensive, because of their very nature, requiring a good deal of available bandwidth capacity. If you're serious about stopping DDoS, make sure you're willing to swallow the budget pill required.
