    Angry Problems after SuPHP !?

Hey , I have problems with the server after changing it to SuPHP

The server load is so much higher , im using DA , before SuPHP it sends emails that the average server load is 11 or 12

    now its 43 to 44

and after a day or 2 , mysql stops working , i have to stop and start the service to make it work

It shows in the service monitor that it's working

    but I see lots of those : mysqld (pid 2993 2994 2995 2996 2997 2998 3000 3001 3002 3003 3369 3370 3371 3372 3373 3374 3375 3473 3475 3483 3487 3489 3495 3497 3502 3504 3506 3516 3518 3520 3522 3528 3550 3572 3574 3580 3581 3584 3588 3595 3600 3601 3614 3617 )

    pid

and it stops working or not responding ... scripts can't make connections

also restart httpd to make it faster....

is there anything i can do to fix it ? any suggestions ?

Install watchmysql and you will be able to limit the mysql connections by users and also kill the connections if the limit is reached. This should help you to bring down the load. Also, install CSF and make the necessary security changes in the server as per the instructions given in the security check result of CSF.

    Hello,

Is mysql service optimized? I don't thinks switching to Suphp will cause such an issue.

    Hello,

Watchmysql is a WHM plugin and he is using DA as his panel. So watchmysql won't help him.

Hey thanks all for your replies , Im getting these problems after i switched to suphp , even the site is now slower

and some other stuff happened ... SSH login is now slower

Wordpress AdminCP is like 20x slower than other pages I don't know why

and all that happened after switching to SuPHP , ofcourse done a lot of stuff to make it work : http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?p=7488260

and sometimes I have to restart HTTPD before restarting mysqld , otherwise it'll say loading and doesnt stop mysqld

    Hello,

The below give URL will surely help you a lot.

    http://boomshadow.net/tech/php-handlers/

I would like to quote a sentence from the URL here.

" CMS platforms such as WordPress will notoriously run a high CPU load. You will want to install a caching plug-in such as WP Super Cache, especially if you are running suPHP. If you find that your server is still continually struggling with CPU usage, you may want to consider switching to DSO or FastCGI. "

Hey , Thanks , but it was working fine before suphp

same number of visitors .. same scripts .. same everything

and the strange thing that , before i switched to suphp , i get emails about load .. maximum 11 - 12

    now i get like 44 - 45

I will try FastCGI , but will that help mysql too ?

    Hello,

That's what said in that doc : If you are using Suphp you need to install Supercache.

You can try FCgi for sure. But I must say SuPHP is secure than all other PHP Handlers. A proper tweak may fix the load issue.

Changing PHP Handlers won't resolve the issue with mysql. You need to tweak mysql service.

Ok , should I try supercache first ? or fastcgi ?

I want it to be secure.

And how come mysql service got messed up only after changing to SuPHP ?

and before it was working fine with no problems for more than a heavy month of use

and one more question please , i have this full backup cron which may be the reason hanging mysql everyday 12am

is it ok to make one the same time or 30 mins after .. like 12:30 to restart mysql service ?

and will it make problems ? i read in vbulletin forum that it could corrupt the DB if it was busy doing something.. ?
