We are a networking supplier to corporations. One of our SharePoint 2010 installations requires custom programming to create a script to add extra functionality to the "Send To" drop down menu for Document Libraries.
This entails adding a "Send to FTP site" entry in the Send To menu where the selected file will be pushed to an offsite FTP server.
A complete specification of all functionality will be sent to anyone interested in performing this work.
Prior IIS and/or SharePoint coding should be reflected in your portfolio. Pay is commensurate with your experience. We are looking for a professional and you can expect compensation to reflect same.
One of our clients is not only a user of Sharepoint 2010 but, also a user of a web based file sharing application which we have authored. Currently, in order to get a file from Sharepoint to the file sharing site, they must first download the file to their desktop then, login to the file sharing site to upload the file there.
This creates extra steps which we wish to simplify. Instead, we would like to add an entry to the Sharepoint drop down that would allow any selected file to be sent directly to the file sharing site via secure FTP.
This additional entry will be "Send to FTP site" (The FTP site name will be specified later)
Once this action is selected the current file will be send via secure FTP to a specific folder on an off server FTP site. We wish the authentication for the FTP site to be called from a text config file we can drop in a folder on the SharePoint site.
We will setup a specific user / pass on the FTP site that will be used for this function such that the authentication is the same every time this drop down is used.
We have a development SharePoint installation that you can use to test your script. We have also setup the destination FTP site to accept the file.
Please note that you will not have access to the production site for final installation. You will need to work with one of our full time techs to accomplish the installation of the final scripting. They will install based upon your instructions.
As an alternative we may also write an API which you can use to push the file to the FTP site.
