    DNS settings - Google apps

As some reports say for using Google Apps I need to verify the domain ownership and that can be done by adding meta tag or file upload.

Now while registering for Google apps it says I also need to alter DNS records. How can I do it from cpanel. Do I need to change CNAME, MX records, mailserver from cpanel. Any Suggestions?
