    FDC chicago down again, unstable this couple week,attached ping pic

    http://img5.immage.de/3105vd2.png

    FDC chicago down every two days since May, 2011.
    but the down time is very short, wihin 10 mins.

    And the connection speed is not stable for the last 3 week, max 200kb/s (4-6 hours a day), but the speed is getting better last two days.

    I have some servers at that location and have not experienced any downtime the entire month.

    You are wasting your life. Buy another server. Funny enough this would probably be the same response that you get from fdc

    okayguy, Did you discuss with FDC chicago regarding this issue? If their down time is problem for you then you can move to other server. There is lots of server and their is no down time problem as well.

    I have a very cheap VPS (For personal use) at FDC in Chicago and it has had 16 minutes of downtime in may and that was all on the 14th, no other problems at all... This data is from hyperspin.

    everything is great, they really mean great.
    but i received complaint from many of mine customer, saying the speed is 100kb/s, which is 10 times slower than usual .

    Yes, it looks like they have set their main webserver firewall to not respond to ping. I am not getting a single ping response from the server but can access it perfectly fine (multiple locations).

    Just saying, don't use that ping as proof of any network problems. Their webserver simply doesn't respond to ping.

    I never use ping to proof network problem, i only ping it when my server goes down. i don't need to proof anything i am just a end user of the server and i am just trying to tell the true experience with FDC.

    I am not saying a bad word of them, and i still want to continue with their server, with this cheaper/compatible price, their service/overall performance is still higher than my expected.

    Testing and it loads fine here. Managed to get to the page from multiple locations across the planet.

    I'm not an FDC Servers customer so I can't say anything about that, though.

    We are also not seeing any issue. Why don't run trace route to locate the issue?

    We experienced an outage this morning at ~10:25 AM EST in Chicago. We have been having frequent major outages for the past month.

    The outages are only occurring on the web2 section of FDC in Chicago. The majority of servers in Chicago are in their larger main web1 section. Tickets we have opened for the outages on web2 lasting over 10 minutes have been opened with the following responses.

    The majority of outages are brief enough where by the time a ticket is submitted; the outage has resolved. Still not acceptable.

    5/30
    "We were experiencing a network issue that has affected the following subnets:

    67.159.44.x
    67.159.45.x

    The issue has been resolved and your service should return to normal within the next 15 minutes."

    5/23
    "ya, graphs indicate a ddos at that time frame."

    5/19
    "We found a box sending out constant malicious traffic during that time period. We have already terminated the client cuasing that problem. it was unrelated to the work we did earlier however."

    5/17
    "There appears to be an issue with the link to that segment, we are working to find the root cause and replace any hardware in regards to that. I will update you once we have more information."

    I should also note that the outage today appears to have been BGP related. They switched around some upstream carriers in Denver.

    Breaking IPv6 on all of our /48's in Denver. No response from a network admin in 6 hours.

    Code:
    traceroute6 2001:4860:800f::93
    traceroute to 2001:4860:800f::93 (2001:4860:800f::93), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
     1   (2001:49f0:a009::1)  4.000 ms  4.000 ms  4.000 ms
     2  * * *
