Better cPanel Webmail, Calender and Document Sharing ?

    Hello Guys

I have been using cPanel for years on my dedicated servers. Of late, have been loosing a lot of customers because cPanel continues to offer poor Webmail choices and no Business features.

Most of our customers these days buy very little space / transfer and instead point their MX records to Google to use the feature-rich Gmail and other Google tools. I guess many other people in the hosting industry are suffering because of this.

    1. I saw Atmail under WHM->Manage Plugins but the reviews say that it is not much better than Roundcube. Anyone using Atmail or a better Webmail client (than Squirrel, Horde and Round) want to comment?

    2. cPanel site says that a few days ago they launched this:
    forums.cpanel.net/f43/status-better-webmail-options-209872.html

Anyone happy with their new Webmail option?

    3. How to offer Calender sharing and Document sharing features to clients on a cPanel server. Plesk has Openexchange, does cPanel have anything similar?

    Thanks for your time.

Haven't you considered bringing options and services to those customers using Google Apps? Sometimes you can't swim against the tide

BTW, I think that the recent change in Google Apps policy that reduces the free mailboxes to 10 creates more oportunities for mixed configurations.

Atmail, the one that comes with cpanel is the open edition and don't have the cool stuff is even worse than the others, no calendar! no file exchange! I am waiting for Round-cube 0.6 that will include a better address book & calendar with export/import features at least something better to give to my clients.

    So far my research shows:

Afterlogic or Roundcube (upcoming version) for only Webmail

Zimbra or Zarafa for a complete solution.

    Any comments?

OpenXchange is an even more complete solution...
And there are already solutions for implementing it in Plesk

Thanks for suggesting the better complete solution.

What about Webmail options - Buy Afterlogic? Is it any good?

Or wait for next version of Roundcube?

When your needs hit this level, you really just have to let of hosting it on Linux -- the options are all pretty miserable. You'll have a much better time using MailEnable, SmarterMail or Exchange, on a Windows server.

You're fighting an uphill battle, trying to get this on Linux.
