    Thumbs down SEMOWEB

    2 Mornings I have woke up and my site has been down,not happy with this at all.Thay say it it is a network issue and they are trying to sort it.Not happy with there service at all. Went with them because I like some of the things I read on WHT. Hope things get better soon its really annoying having a website that does not load.

    Did they say what was causing the issues, are you receiving any errors in connecting to your website when loading it up?

    Do you mind if I ask why you are not happy with their level of service?

    Yikes! Well, Semoweb has an active member here so I expect to hear the company's side soon.

    Have you reported your domain to the moderators to verify the legitimacy of this review?

    looks like semoweb is mitigating a DDOS attack

    I had visited their site in the morning and wondered seeing the cheap prices and wonder whether the arent awake abt the website

    Am sure there service is just fine sean but 2 days and my site is not loading and then I type in my domain name and it takes me to yahoo. Something is wrong I can't even access my ftp so I can't even download everything so I move to my new host.

    Do you mind if I ask the domain you have with SemoWeb? @HostCats has mentioned it is related to a DDOS Attack but I am more than curious to know how they have come to this conclusion?

    I am sure Dustin will address this promptly and have it resolved, but 2 days of issues is never a good thing.

    Your provider should be your first point of contact, sadly. Otherwise the provider may not be aware of the issues and without the notification it may not be addressed as promptly as you'd like it to be.

    If i may ask where this service outage within the same period or at different intervals? and for how long does it last?

    It's WHT rules to require anyone posting a review to provide the domain they're hosting with the company they're writing about. Good reviews, bad reviews, okay reviews, they all require this.

    It's not a matter of the company in question knowing who you are, it's a matter of WHT only having quality and verified reviews that the readers can trust as being legitimate, good or bad.

    If you are chatting with the company you may not report your domain name.
    You are not the first who asked to show URL.
    That is the rule of the community and you need to respect it!

    I have not redirected it one minute it showing then it redirect me to yahoo saying no wedsite. Then my images will not load something going on there end.FTp will connect but it will not let me access public_html it really annoyinh I just want my files so i can move to my new host

    Greg do you know what server you are placed on?

    My Semoweb account is up.
    They have more than one server, so it could be your are on a non so called problematic server.

    Hello everyone,

    The issue this client is facing is due to a ddos attack on port 80 while both our techs and the dc is attempting to mitigate.

    Httpd is coming online and then back offline due to the attacks. At this time I can personally access the UK server which is facing the issue and @Greg you can always request that we migrate you from a backup to a different server and as for back ups you can still access cpanel or whm due to port 80 only being down we apologize for the issues you have faced.


    Here is the actual uptime for the UK server facing the ddos attack.

    root@server1 [~]#

    As you can see quite a few techs from our side and the dc are logged in doing the best we can.

    DDoS is the admin worst nightmare I received 2 clients in this month doing online casino omg as soon as I point the DNS boom!! DDoS. 600 Mbps attacks!
