    Their forum was hacked.
On forum.fdcservers.net it had a big notice "this site has been hacked" etc...
I opened a ticket via CRM and a few minutes later their forum was down.

It looks like only vbulletin db got hacked, based on the email I got was sent to the address I used on their forum, I got nothing to the email i used on the CRM.

FDCservers never fails to shock me.

*Pictures of computers running out of cardboard cases/boxes.

*Running without UPS or generator (even on a new denver data center there's no UPS)

*The CBOT building will have to do regular life and safety systems testing and this involves the local fire department turning off the building power to make sure the elevators still work and fire doors close automatically etc.. Without UPS that means guaranteed down time. Most high rise buildings in most cities have to do this annually.

To me FDCservers is the twilight zone and I'm shocked by their operation.

CBOT can't have UPS or power generators, apparently it's illegal or something like that, I guess it's along the lines of running power from 6 sub stations or something. Never had an actual power outage in regards too that. But have had other parts failing...power supplies and network cards, but has been resolved in matter of minutes. I'll stick with FDC for a long time.

Why did they allow something liked this to happen?

I know nothing of the company but I'd certainly avoid any with no UPS and who's been hacked like this.
If their own forum isn't safe how is anything else?

Careful! Petr might send your employer a sternly worded letter threatening to sue you AND your employer if you bring up the cardboard boxes. Oh, and he'll request the domain hosting the photos of said cardboad boxes on the data center floor, complete with duct tape holding the drives together.

Wait, he tried to take ownership of the domain in addition to trying to C&D it?

He didn't try, he did it. The domain belonged to a user who is banned on here, so I cannot mention their name, but they were hosting photos from within FDC and Petr took offence to it, allegedly threatened to sue him AND his employer where the domain was hosted. For reasons I'm not 100% clear of, the domain was given to Petr and still belongs to them this day. Since the user owned the domain for some time and used it for email and his personal website, I assume it wasn't given under the best of circumstances.

Well, I'm not sure what ground Petr had legally to stand on. I know the person took the photos himself while visiting the DC to fix someones equipment... I suppose there could have been a photography prohibited clause at the data center, but what would one sue for? It's not like the person made up these claims since they were actual photos that a lot of people on WHT saw. The whole thing was confusing, but it disgusted and angered me too. Oh well.. welcome to America, land of the lawyers.

    Lightbulb

If you're just some guy with a camera you might not even put up a fight against a whole company like FDC. http://whois-search.com/whois/ub3r.net

ub3r dot net got as they say "pwn3d"
