Adaptec RAID Card Temperature
Are you guys noticing very high temperature on those Adaptec 5405Z RAID cards?
We have deployed several servers with Adaptec 5405Z RAID cards and the temperature is pretty high, even thought direct air flow is provided.

What's yours at right now? Adaptec cards run pretty hot in general.

Our 5805Z cards run at 53-54C. One is running at 59C for some reason, but the arcconf utility calls it normal.

They're passively cooled are they not? It's my understanding they'll run hot just like the GPU on a video card - even with adequate cooling they'll still run hotter than you'd expect.
With that level of heat, it shouldn't degrade performance but it may degrade lifespan.

We got 4 fans running at full speed in a SuperMicro 813MTQ chassis and the temperature we get on those RAID cards is about 50C - 55C, which seems to be pretty high to what I was expecting. Yes, it looks like they run pretty hot.
