LA Datacenter (I Need to move from Quadranet) Where to?
Hi, I have servers in L.A hosted by Quadranet.
The last 4-5 months Quadranet totally blows, and I've been moving customers off that machine to other good datacenters.
I still want an L.A location though, just something good.
This is the 3rd L.A host we have tried. what the hell is wrong with these LA companies?
does anyone know where I can move too?
I'm starting to think the entire LA city has horrible networking and that I may not be able to offer it.
Anyone have a good LA server?
NOTE: Quadranet cant even acknowledge how bad their network issue is: even with MTRs, traceroutes and all.
I hate moving, its a last resort when a datacenter is so horrible that they themselves cannot resolve the problem. Suggestion: stay away from QuadranetLast edited by mavmike; 05-26-2011 at 03:56 PM.

If you have had those types of results with 3 companies, then it is time for self assessment.

What are the other 2 datacenters you moved away from?

I inquired Quadranet sales repeatedly several times few weeks back and no one ever got back to me. Made me felt like it's a ghost ship.
Have you tried WebNX? They have co-lo listed on their website.SysAdmin.xyz

I second the recommendation of WebNX. A solid provider indeed.

I just spoke with WebNX live support, it was fast and great answers.
I like how this is starting and am preparing the move over to WebNX now.
Given how bad Quadranet/Burstnet were I'll probably end up staying at WebNX for very long.
Now for all the hard work of moving full machines :\

If you're going to Colocate your servers on a smaller basis then why not try this 2 as well, CalPOP and Ubiquity Servers.
If you're doing a lot, then look directly at Equinix or maybe for 1/2 or 1/4 Rack, IX2 might do it for you.Aaron Ong

Care to give some details? Possibly some ticket numbers?
I don't see makeavoice.com OR the name on the makeavoice.com domain registration as ever having been a client of ours.
Considering that we have only been offering LA dedicated server a little over a month, we have sold hundreds and I can count the number of cancellations of them on two hands still, I find these comments troublesome that you have made.
Please supply further information to support your claims, as it sounds like there is more to this story then you have supplied here... .

I love burstnet on the forum, they come in and slam the a$$holes and make a hell of a show.
Way to go burst, that's what I call sticking by your company! FTW!

I'll also throw in a recommendation for Ubiquity. Their LA location is pretty nice.
Nothing here right now.

I can tell you WebNX runs a tight, tight ship. Excellent Network, Excellent Uptime, and fast support. We use them for dedicated, but it was my impression they did not offer any more colo last time I checked?

After researching your account (the OP), we have found that a lot of the issues you experience are related to your own server being DDOSed. There has been an incident where the in-rack PDU failed and your server had a downtime then, but the majority of your issues are DDOS attacks or related to improper use of your IPs.
We have also had issues recently due to clients attracting DOS attacks to their machines and in effect causing harm to surrounding customers in the same rack due to saturating switch uplinks. These attacks are usually on the scale of 5Gbps+ so they saturate individual rack access switch uplinks.
We are trying to make great strides to have these customers move off our services as quickly as possible (and as quickly as we can identify possible DOS targets).
I would have preferred to just discuss this privately with you instead of making it public but I feel we need to represent our side of the story as well so as to not be misrepresented.
3568xx – customer tried to use gateway IP instead of a usable IP
3796xx – customer again tried to use a “unusable” IP
3830xx – customer experiences network drops, doesn’t reply to our requests
3971xx – customer IP disabled due to DDOS, which affects entire server due to attack
4013xx – customer IP disabled due to DDOS, which affects entire server due to attack
4013xx – customer name server IP disabled due to DDOS
4013xx – customer using unusable “gateway” IP instead of usable IP and then suddenly just closed ticket
4013xx – customer IP disabled due to DDOS, which affects entire server due to attack
4013xx – customer IP disabled due to DDOS, which affects entire server due to attack
4065xx – legitimate downtime due to PDU failureLast edited by ItsChrisG; 05-26-2011 at 05:46 PM.

Sounds familiar, and I can only assume the same occured with us.
OP: If you have DDOS issues, best to ask for help around here, rather than badmouthing providers that appear to have done nothing wrong and jumping from host to host.
Save yourself the aggravation and attend to your needs properly...

That's my point, you guys stand up for your company and a lot of other people just get walked on.
I bought a VPS with you for 1 month and cancelled it, I cancelled because the only reason I got it was to see if what anyone said was actually true.
Turns out it had 31 days uptime (the entire billing period I had it..) and never once became unresponsive. For $5 you can't go wrong there.. I gotta say I don't understand how you can run the operation at such rock bottom prices but for un-managed services its a damn good deal.
Props guys.'Ripcord'ing is the only way!

Hi Mavmike,
Don't you think you should say something else then "All these data centers suck" ? Use some detail and explain yourself.
Oh one more thing Mike. You suck. Why do you keep buying service from Los Angeles data centers in the first place if you're in canada? If you're trying to reach asia you can also try San Fran/San Jose/the bay area data centers. I believe there's something wrong with you.
