Extracting login cookies from firefox

I have a script that extracts the cookies from firefox to use the login cookies in wget, but it doesn't work. Is this because I need session cookies?

If I need session cookies, how do I extract them?

The script is extracting the cookies from the file cookies.sqlite.

It depends on how it works. Does it parses the servers response headers?

I don't think that it is possible to retrieve session cookies. Have you seen anyone who retrieved so?
