Does the quoting tool works? - Never got an answer

    Hey guys,

I'm looking for a shared host and I tried using the quote host here and never received an answer (Sent it on monday).

    Does it work?

I'm curretly looking for a nice host, don't require much, Softaculous would be nice, php+mysql, we won't even use email (Have google apps for that), nice uptime, already have domain, willing yo pay for a year in advance.

Is there a forum for this? I tried in the offers one but couldn't find something that really stood out as matching what I needed. And there's no request forum (and never got an answer from the quoting tool, hence my question, is it broken?)

Do you have any preferences for location?

I'm very surprised you couldn't find a hosting provider under the Web Hosting Offers section that meets your needs. There are literally thousands+ of providers offering PHP, MySQL and Softaculous. Is there some sort of special request that you have that didn't make any of them worthwhile?

As Jedito said, it send the information you provide to companies that pay to receive it. It's on them to respond to you or not. Not entirely sure how many companies it goes to or pay for them.

There is no forum for anyone to promote their services to you here. It's discussion only.

What you need sounds pretty basic, only thing you didn't mention is how much space and bandwidth you'll need.

Is this for an existing website?

Look at Stablehost. It meets your specs.
They're one of the hosts I often suggest, and use for my own important mini sites.

It worked for me when I tried it a year or so ago. Maybe the iNET system is not working properly.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply

Well, since it's something quite small, I don't really expect much, so, around 25/30USD/y. (Shared hosting of course)

Edit: 1-5GB space. 20GB transfer I guess. Is not a big website.

I did see some offers in the other forum, however, lots of the companies where registered outside the USA, and I'm looking for a host that's incorporated in the US (Not just the servers, but the company itself).

I'll look into stablehost, any other suggestions?

One reason for the lack of response could be that $2.50 per month for a hosting company with significant investment in infrastructure, trained support staff, and a guarantee they are not overselling their servers, is no money at all.

I signed up to receive quotes on that thing and unfortunately I only received messages from bogus email addresses with all roughly the same requests. I decided to stop using it as i spent $50 for nothing. I would recommend looking in the offers section or contacting some of us here including myself.
