Any ipage users?

I have produced a website using photoshop & dreamweaver, and am ready to upload it to the internet, now i just need a host!

I have found ipage and signed up here as I figured there may be unbiased users with tips, on ipage I have found a domain name + it has unlimited space which i dont mind, for £28ish per year

I notice 2 problems being mentioned, people say it either goes down every few days or have trouble using when they have wordpress.

My site is only the photo shop background (gifs/jpgs) and writing and some small jpegs placed in DW, no video's or picture files larger than 100kb to be honest, do you think i am in the right place for hosting? as my site is not large at all, I am going to sleep on it first lol

thanks for replies

Do you feel you need 'Unlimited Hosting', if so then you are in the right position. Personally, for what you have mentioned above you really do not need such a service, but as you have already paid the full amount on a yearly payment why not wait it out?

Ive not paid just yet I have the page on payments page,

Yes i have seen some hosting 1gb max, which i think would still be more than enough,i dont mind about unlimited space atall, mainly i am there because it is the cheapest i have found so far that offers domain name + host, as i dont need much space

I think my entire site is around 2 - 3 MB's so far lol would only be adding small amounts (pictures) as well if i were to modify it

My apologies, I did read your post and it sounded like you paid the 28 (Euros) for a year on the payment already

In regards to what you need, if your site is new as stated then you really are not going to need a service that is going to offer you "Unlimited Hosting"...

I would recommend going with a more stable solution, you are more than welcome to go your current route on the "Unlimited Offers", but I would advise to search for current reviews of iPage before proceeding.

I can only say your best option is to start small and grow with your requirements, 1GB would certainly be sufficient with at least 10GB to 20GB of Dedicated Bandwidth!

Just remember in this industry, you get what you pay for

If you are preparing to go cheap, then expect cheap from the service you are purchasing from. But do let us know how things go

Agreed. Spend the money and save yourself the hassle now...I use my slogan of "do it right the first time" right now!

very true stream, i guess im not familiar with usual hosting prices!

I know the extent to what i will be putting on my site so unlimited is overkill, however 1gb would be good, even though it is less money, the specs are exactly what im looking for

You can get a good host for less cost than a so-called "unlimited" provider.
And the quality is usually better.
Just read some reviews, check out suggestions.
