GoDaddy VPS - Please advice me
Hello everyone,
I need your advice, I have a forum (with about 100 online members, and this is increasing day by day)..
So I want to move from HostGator shared hosting to GoDaddy VPS, all what I don't want is a high server load/slow website, or a max_connections problem while connecting with the databases..
I really need my website to be very very fast... (as fast as this forum )
Do you advice me to use a GoDaddy VPS server? Will my forum be always fast on it? (I use MyBB)
Thanks in advance...

You wont be able to send email directly from the server they block port 25 and require you to use their relay to send email from the server. I dealt with this many times when I worked for Labtech. People would put in tickets say their email was not going out... It was because Godaddy blocked email..

Which kind of mails are you talking about?
I had a VPS server on GoDaddy few months ago, I was using my email addresses and everything was okay
Can you explain to me more please? Like, if my forum sends an activation mail to a new member he may not receive it at all?

I was referring to email. We had several customers using godaddy VPS and godaddy Dedicated Servers and you could not email out of the server unless you used a smart host. If you had a mail server you had to use a smart host. I do not know exactly what these customers purchased but I tried telnetting to port 25 on several mail servers and they were blocked. I was then told by one of the customers that they were given a smart host to use to send email out of the Virtual Server. Ask godaddy about this. Maybe they have changed something. This was less than 6 months ago. It happened with three different clients. They were all using Labtech which is an RMM tool... At the time I was supporting Labtech...

I was referring to email on a VPS hosted by godaddy. You might want to ask them about this. Maybe There is a way around it.

I have never used GoDaddy VPS, i only have some domains from them. The thing i don't like about them is that you almost never know what you will have to pay them - they try to sneak all kinds of "addons" to your invoice that you don't want.

I have only supported a few Godaddy VPSes and Dedicated servers, but I totally agree. Sometimes we buy certs and the occasional domain name. They always make you go through like 5 pages of addons. I guess that is one way to make more money. Sell people stuff they do not want...

GoDaddy for a VPS.....or any kind of hosting?
You can do a lot better than that by going to a specialist VPS provider.

KnownHost, FutureHosting (I use them both), WiredTree, Servint, MDDHosting, Liquidweb immediately spring to mind.
