When I ordered my first shared hosting it took 2-3 days to setup, then there were frequent downtime and high cpu usage. And then they started to move their servers to new DC and it took almost another 4-5 days downtime. After server migration, there was huge DDoS attack(From their competitor they said) on it and high CPU usage due to kernel version.
More than 1 months it(Downtime+high CPU usage+DDoS) continued and support staff couldn't resolve anything permanently. Amalthea.hostrail.com server was oversold with offshore shared hosting and lot of illegal shells were hosted inside it as a result other clients were getting effect of it.
Also their support response is really slow, every time it takes longer than 48-72 hours to response. Support staffs are not informative and resourceful. Regarding the downtime of amalthea.hostrail.com server(Ticket #754691) once one staff said to me that amalthea server is down for DDoS or something else, and few minutes later another staff named Steven Parker says to me issue "resolved" without checking the server status.
My Ticket #754691 has lot of screenshot proof of frequent downtime and server load, slowness.
Also hostrail.com track server ping for uptime report which is not helpful. No one will know if there is any issue with HTTP, FTP, Mail server etc. Their so called "uptime" report is an eyewash to clients.
I gave up using HostRail and every clients should give up, actually lots of my friends had backup on their own and moved their site to new provider. I don't know how they are gonna continue their business with so many downtime. Some people call Hostrail as "HOSTFAIL" check all Facebook page post for proof. So many angry clients there!!!
***I have attached some screenshot(By date) of CPU load for proof.
no kidding, couldnt believe to see 220 for cpu load..
are you running some RoR apps ?
No I was running only WordPress blogging script and the high CPU load is not because of me. But because of shell booter, botnet activity done by others. And hostrail authority didn't do anything until server went down!
