Website design
Ok, so I think I'm almost ready to become a reseller.
The one thing that is bothering me right now is web design.
I've looked at quite a few different companies and have realised all of their websites share some similarities, it's as if they are all designed by the same designer!
A few examples that come to mind are SpecHosting, Surmounted, ResellerClub, PrestonHost. I'd really like to have a similar look and feel to my website.
So my question is; is there some sort of template that is popular among web hosts? Or is there a web designer that you guys could recommend me?
Cheers,
Eildor0

Well the main concept of web hosting cannot really be changed so the web design of each hosting companies will surely have some slight similarities.
There are many templates for web hosting design that you can find around the net and also sold in WHT.
If you are looking for a custom design, I will recommend Payton: http://www.iampayton.com[ James Lee - Cloud & Web Hosting Specialist • 10+ Years WHT Veteran]

Aaaaha! Exactly what I was looking for, thanks JLHC. The designs are excellent, but I'm going to have a wild guess and say that a custom design would be too expensive for me at this stage.
I think I'm going to have to use a template, and modify it (or get someone else to modify it for me). I just need to find a template that I like.0

Actually, it's better to have a unique design than have the same look as others have. Your design can be your signature and it's look is a way of marketing/promoting your service.

I recommend Audentio. Their work is simply amazing and top quality. They are very active in the forum community as well. They have a lot of testimonials as well. Like said above, it is way better to have a unique design, and In my opinion, if this is your choice, I would go with Audentio. However, if you are fine with a template for now, you can checkout Thememonster. I hear a lot about them, however do not have any experience with them. Basically, my suggestion, when going higher up get a custom design, but for starting off you can start with a template.

I agree that most web hosting companies sites will have similarities. For example most companies will offer multiple plans and the easiest way to display that is with a table.
Also as many hosting companies use the same software you will always find a similar selection of software logos█ Zomex ~ Templates & services for web hosting resellers since 2009!

Thank you for all of your input.
I will start off with a cheap template from ThemeForest. Of course, I plan on getting a unique design once I know what I'm doing.0

If you use a template from a web hosting company your site will definitely look cheap. I see a website as an investment so i wouldn't suggest doing this.

though most resellers often start on a low budget, I understand why you need a usual template prevalent in the business, i will also recommend that to get you started, but if you really need to establish yourself, you must start building your own brand from scratch.

Can't beat custom designs. Dipak from sohomwebmedia.in and Harzem from harzemdesign.com get my vote. Quality designs.

pricing for web related graphic design
Just looking through these discussions and wondering if anyone has experience in pricing web graphic design (not development) - specifically when the client has a custom graphic design layout they want to work toward. Most clients seem to want a set price but the actual graphic design involved can sometimes go on for weeks and made worse by client making constant changes along the way. Is there a fairer pricing method that ensures the designer is not always the one out of pocket? Note - clients don't seem to like the $/hr method either. thanks.
