What marketing do u use for your webhosting business?

Just Curious to know about what kinds of marketing techniques different webhosts use and how far they prove worth?

Looks certain people spend alot for seo.

SEO is too competitive for web hosting and you will spend thousands and thousands and still not make it to the top. You need to find a niche and serve that well. Don't be everything to everyone!

Where do u get the emails to mass email market. Wont people blacklist u for spam?

    But that
Sounds a good way. There's a lot of development in SMS/email marketing.

SEO is one thing you need to do. 2nd is to find your niche and to do brandig over the targetted segments.

SEO is great method if you know how to do it well.
Also, offering your service on WHT's related offering section forum will be great method.

The method I use so far is word-of-mouth marketing method

The best way is "Word-of-Mouth", I find this to work better than SEO. Surely SEO will work for you, but then you need to look at how many other people both in sense of Webhosting and non-Webhosting who are trying to beat each other - the normal folk won't get very far and at best it may be useless.

I tend to use secondary services to see where I might be going wrong and improve on them, no need to compete as I am doing quite well without it.
