    * DRAM or SDRAM?

    Hello,

    I have just purchase a new dedicated server:


    Config:

    RAM: 32GB DRAM


    Which is best for me? SDRAM or DRAM?



    I am using this for running a Windows VPSs..

    O.o, How would sdram be better for him than ddr2 ram?

    DDR3 is faster than DDR2, DDR2 is quite old now but sufficient for most user's needs. Personally if I was running a VPS host I would want DDR3 ECC RAM, but you don't NEED it. DDR3 is for newer processors, and most likely will increase your total cost (presuming you're on an older CPU configuration).

    DDR/DDR2/DDR3 RAM actually is a type of SDRAM, so your provider is probably not using the correct terms. They probably don't really mean DRAM.
