Vps to host SolusVM Master on
The title about sums it up, could anyone recommend a decent vps host to host a SolusVM Master panel on? I'd prefer a recommendation from someone who is hosting a SolusVM Master on a vps already if possible.

6sync's $15/mo plan is perfectly suitable.

I personally think a low end dedi is better to host the master on, At least it'll not be in a shared environment then.

Our master is hosted through racksrv.com, been using them for 4 years without any downtime.
A little more expensive that 6sync but not much.█ -> INCEPTION HOSTING LIMITED Since 2010!

Thanks for the suggestions so far, any comments on Linode? I'm wondering if it's better to host it with Xen.

If you want a choice of location (something that I don't believe 6sync offer at the moment, although I think they're looking into it again) other than East Coast, then they'll suit you fine. We use Linode for our main site, and they're rock solid in terms of reliability. Support is fairly swift with ~20min or so average response time.
AFAIK 6sync use a mixture of Xen and KVM, although I think new customers are just being deployed on KVM.

You can host it on the cloud like rackspace or at least get a XEN maybe in linode.

If your vps was big enough, that might be a good way to sell vps.

Ask your provider where you purchased your dedicated server. Incase they have VPS servers, they'll most likely provision you with a small VPS for your SolusVM master panel. Thats what we do atleast.
You'd want to put it on a VPS. If things go wrong, you can quickly move it around to another node.

It would be best to buy a dedicated then and install solusvm on it and then install solusvm on a vps created from that. You'd have more control of I/O.

I can create an image snapshot of a dedicated server and re-provision it elsewhere during an outage?
I can do that with a virtual server Does not even have to be in the same data-center. Dedicated servers, you'll have problems with device drivers, network settings, etc.
