Hello,

Well first off check out the offers section:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=104

Then have a look around, click on a few ads etc. Find a host that suits your needs give them a quick google to see if you can find any reviews etc.

There are two types of platforms OpenVZ (Virpus use this) and Xen (Paravirtualization). Have a look into them, but OpenVZ should be fine for you.

If you have time also have a look at http://www.lowendbox.com they specialize in finding and listing budget hosts on there blog, providers such as Virpus also have reviews on there.

Yes I would recommend checking around. Get multiple quotes before you make a decision. Do you have a budget in mind?

You will need to post in the offers section of the forum if you want actual offers and direct replies from a hosting company as they are not allowed here. I think $10 to $20 would be a very good budget to land you a very reliable VPS server with a non "budget" only company.

Instead of making a "hosting request" you can look at so many offers in the VPS Offers section:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=104

There are many, many VPS offers to choose from there.

Virpus.com has been around for awhile, and Ken and his team seem to know what they are doing and do care about there clients and provide a good budget vps service. They have mixed reviews here,

I do personally know they had a rocky start for the end of the year 2010, and the start of the new year 2011, but I do believe I think they got everything back on track and everything's been running good as the latest review I found was a positive one.

I would give 'em a chance, Virpus isn't a company that's going to run-away, and they don't change or hide anything there upfront and work with there clients with every issue that occurs, even in the negative reviews if you read them fully you see that it's not always there fault also.
