How do you see SEO 5 years down the line?

As you all know that Major Search Engines like Google always try to enhance algorithms in a way which makes content as king. Latest Panda update by Google justify the phrase "content is king". I wonder if SEO will becomes content writing in future. My question is "How do you see SEO 5 years down the line?". Is content more important than Links?

With things like the Panda coming out,
I believe unique content will really excel...

I can imagine systems being added that really hit automated SEO hard.

+1. I've not read about Panda in great detail, though I believe it will be unique content which will attract the traffic.

Even with earlier Google algs the content is the starting point of the SEO process. There is no point in promoting a site to appear in Google without having relevant content in the page. However, the process is continued with link building strategies to gain PR and improve SERP of the page.

    Future

Five years is a long time in Google years. Perhaps the computer screen will read our DNA and Google will translate that into what our interests are. Sure would be easier.

The things that have been important with SEO from the get go will always have higher importance. I can't see link building and great content having any less weight then they ever have.

I have often wondered how long SEO will be as important as it is. Most likely it will just evolve, but...

I have observed that there are 12 voting in poll started by me in this thread. 6 Are in favor of content and 6 are in favor of both. No one vote for link so results are quite clear that content is important than links these days.

After 5 years we don't know how Google will change its algorithm.
