Boxbilling looks good. But not sure about security and support since it is free.

Was difficult to even realize what they are offering just from visiting the website. Until you try to order something, there is nothing to indicate what the site is "selling".
How did you hear about it?

Without looking at the coding, We certainly cannot comment on its security vulnerabilities.

Lack of documentation and a website without information regarding its features and purpose, I,d be sure to add this to my avoidance list.

I second that. Just the basic structure of the site looks sketchy to me. It looks like they just tried to build the quickest, most basic site, just to get it online.

Can't judge if it's safe or not until you try it nothing's perfect.
So, why don't you give it a try and share us your review about using it?

If it's free, that always sets a bit of a flag for me. I know that not every free program has issues, programs, or is malicious, but I am still more cautious around them. For something as important as billing software, I would definitely go with something that has a reputation, even if it's a little more expensive.

How old is the site? If it's not safe, wouldn't somebody already hacked it? Couldn't you test the security with software? For Example use a scanner, Netsparker Community Edition anymore?

I recommed to buy a commercial software. Some free softwares may not secure or stable.

    Hi,

I've heard about it from this forum and i went on to try it. At the moment there's no documentation available and the boxbilling site itself uses the same billing software. i.e it's the real front end of the software.

This still has some issues and i'm sure this will sat free until they iron out bugs and get the features working. I had some issues with my DA setup where accounts were not being created and i mentioned it to them and came out with release about 2 weeks after. It too had some issues and after mentioning them, they gave me one off update to test.

So basically this is still a work in progress and has a good feature set. Once everything is sorted out i'd say it would be great. and i'm hoping to build a moneybookers and alertpay modules this to make it more versatile, but have to wait for a while.
