    Supermicro chassis without PSU

Anyone know if Supermicro sells their chassis without the PSUs, either directly or through one of their resellers? I just don't see the sense in paying for an 800W PSU that I'm going to replace anyway.

Their PSUs are top of the line. I'm curious, what are you replacing them with or planning to use instead?

My guess is replacing for a cheaper to reduce costs?

(Replace in the buying phase, obviously not once purchased)

Nope, not cheaper - I want one of their cheaper chassis (I don't need a ton of drive bays) but I need a higher wattage PSU. They make a 1200W Gold PSU which would be great.

I know their PSUs are some of the best, so I do intend on using them.

Now I'm curious what you're doing with these. 800W is already a huge amount of power for a server.

Thought so. Supermicro makes 1400W power supplies if you need them.

    Carry on
