Host cut and run. Help with Domain name

Afternoon all.

Well, my old hosting company have cut and run and taken everything with them.

I used to have a package with tophostinguk and things were great, until they were bought out.

I was in the process of migrating away to my new hosts EZPZ and asked tophostinguk to help me migrate my domains away. Next day, they disappear. My hosting goes down, no access to anything, their website disappears and they do not respond to calls and emails.

Im only really worried about 1 domain, this acts as a redirect to another site and i use it for my photography business.

I have contacted Nominet and paid them money to try and sort this out, but as tophostinguk registered the domain using their email address they cant do anything until i pay them more money?

Anyone got any suggestions how i can sort this?

Help!

That is indeed a problem.

Seeing that Nominet is not going to burn itself on this one i doubt asking the registrar to the change the email address is prolly a no go also. You could ask them and if they know for sure their reseller went out of business and they know how their reseller operated they might want to help you.

But honestly i do not see it happening. Usually registrars have no idea how their resellers operate and how they register domain names for their customers.

Good luck.

Hi,

The only suggestion is to contact the company that purchase tophostinguk in order to get access to your domain names and hosting account. As a profs you can provide them with your order details from tophostinguk in order for them to investigate and assist you with your issues.

Only tophostinguk and Nominet can sort this out for you - if the domain is remotely important, just pay the fees and get on with it - treat it as a cost for learning that going with some unknown registration agent is not the best way to save money in the long term.

TophostingUK is a scam. It's been well documented here at WHT for months now.
Read up the threads on it, then use that info to prepare a well-written request to Nominet.

Paying more money to Nominet would be better idea, if that domain is really much important for you.

he is alredy the company is not live now, they shut down their business. In my opinion registrar can do something because indirectly they are having control on it.

Sometimes, it is important every one should be careful with their hosting companies, especially hosting companies run by freelancer. Do you have the EPP Code ? If you have it, you can transfer your domain quickly to another registrar. It once happen to me in 2008, and I have to transfer my domain name, to a hosting company am with now for 2years+
