    New website review

I have a new website that I need reviewing.

    The website is: http://bit.ly/kOq8Wb

I'm going to be making huge changes with the design from your reviews so please be as critical as possible.

I think it's plain and bland and needs huge changes but I just don't know what it needs.

P.S The logo will be changing, it's just a stand in.

    Thanks guys and girls.

it is clean and it is easy to navigate. However I have a feeling that it is a Demo site. would use a standard left menu or horizontal top menu.

Sorry what do you mean by a demo site?

Well the site is pretty good and you have got incomplete pages like privacy policy, TOS and About Us (important)

You can give the users an option to make images Private ( I don't know if you had enabled this function)

You can improve the logo too

Photos Being Viewed Right Now tab is not actually a good idea and also you should have a strict spam filter too!

Overall its good Since its an image hosting you could give some graphics in the website like Abstracts...

    Thank you for your review.

The reason the pages are empty is because I am currently getting a design done for the site.

The private option will be coming next after I have added the custom photo rating system (tomorrow or Monday).

The 'Photos being viewed now' tab, do you mean the display on homepage or the actual tab in the menu?

I think I will be adding some custom features in at some point to allow users to edit there photos online but for the time being I want it for users who may want to share something on a forum or twitter and need somewhere to put a photo and link to it.

    I appreciate your comments.

The logo will be changing, it is just a stand in logo. A new design is coming as I think its a bit plain.

There is nothing wrong with it being plain. It gets the job done without any clutter. I don't really see anything wrong with it.

Categories at the left, you should be able to click the entire link box and not just the text.

    However it looks great!

I really like the top design (as per the link), nice and clean and easy to use (perhaps some Bold weighting on the sidebar headers?). The second design above is a little hard on the eyes with the heavy blue sidebar, but I like the development!

What would you suggest changing on the new design? I appreciate your comments.

On the blue one? Tone down the sidebar away from a big blue block IMO, others may disagree I just think its a bit too hard on the eyes...?

The 'Sign up' button just says Sign (not sure if this is intentional or not)

Perhaps have smaller imgs, and more thumbnails? so maybe 5x2 or something?

It's pretty damn good if you ask me. Just need maybe a few guide images (aka thumbnails) for the menus and categories
