Linux + gaming.
It does exist, though few companies output stuff that's usable. Not much of a gamer myself but with it working in linux I find myself investing about 30 minutes a day into 'heroes of newerth'. Solid RTS -- inexpensive too: http://www.heroesofnewerth.com/ (works for windows, mac & linux)
Get a copy and hunt me down on there -- user 'terroritory'

I saw the title of this thread and thought what kind of abomination would present itself here.
For me the natural order of things is -
Linux - servers
Windows - games
Macs - work

Hello,
Personally I am Windows Free and Proud of it (Linux all the way). Gaming is not a problem if Wine is set up properly (Starcraft 2 and GuildWars are my games of choice. I will need to give this game above a try.

I only use Linux for other purposes but not for Gaming well maybe I'm also not a gamer.
If Linux (with WINE) can provide what Windows can do, I think that will save costs for gaming center owner (as they'll need to purchase Windows Licenses).Web Hosting Business Guide Book - Getting & Managing Your First 1,000 Clients in Web Hosting

@ Mike - Funny you mention Starcraft 2, here is a screenshot of my computers desktop. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/attach...9&d=1304234879 (I used a modified version of WINE 1.3)
I can also code, design, do productivity stuff and game on my Linux machine. The fact that I also run Apache on it helps me quickly test scripts

There are quite a few games that are compatible with linux.....
UT2K4
Urban Terror
etc
It all comes down to how many potential customers are running linux. I think that over the next few years, games will start becoming more popular on linux, due to distros like ubuntu pushing linux into the desktop market.
